Composer
A versatile 21st century composer and arranger, Frank E. Warren’s
passion is rooted in early 20th century music, and includes influences
from Monteverdi through John Cage to Duke Ellington. This versatility
is evident in his choral, chamber, orchestral, jazz, and vocal works
- as well as in his collaborations with poets, visual artists, and
modern dance companies throughout the United States.
Venues
Warren’s compositions have been performed at numerous venues,
including Carnegie Hall; the Harvard Musical Association; the Lazienkach
Museum (Warsaw, Poland); the Riverside Church in New York City; St.
Botolph Bishopsgate London; Chicago Cultural Center; and the Harold
Washington Library in Chicago; and at universities and festivals throughout
the United States and Europe. In addition, his work has been performed
extensively on five continents, which has given it deserved recognition.
Performers and Ensembles
Warren's compositions have been performed by such eminent musicians
and ensembles as Marni Nixon, Susan Nigro, the Chicago Chamber Orchestra,
Chicago Dance Medium, Bronx Arts Ensemble, His Majesties Clerkes,
the Quartet of the Baltic Philharmonic, and the Rome Festival Orchestra.
Recordings
Warren's music has been recorded on Crystal Records and
has enjoyed frequent airing on national radio, including WFMT and
WNIB in Chicago; WCRB in Boston; the Univeristy of California at Santa
Barbara; Minnesota Public Radio; National Public Radio, and universities
and festivals throughout the United States and Europe.
